When we saw the ground we were amazed and lost for words, and when we started playing it was fantastic. Your team played the game like it should be, and in a great sense of humour. You all made us feel so welcome. So thanks to all concerned, this is my last year as tour manager, but its been the best.
Thank you for helping me arrange this tour against you, and hope we will see you next year.
– A happy opposition captain!
We are always happy to host touring sides, and we are able to play most days of the week. However, due to the number of requests received, from 2011 we will only accept fixtures from teams who are staying at our parent hotel, the Cavendish Hotel in Torquay. Here’s a bit of extra information about it.
The Cavendish Hotel is a family business, which was started back in 1981 by Ernie Blagden, who is still a director and is our club president. We remain independent and are one of the largest family-owned hotels in Torbay. Nine members of the Blagden and Ryder families are involved in the business.
We have excellent facilities here, including indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, garden with a great decking area overlooking it, games room, restaurant, good car parking and, of course, a licensed bar. We’re also close to all amenities – the beach is only 500m away and we’re within easy walking distance of the harbour with its restaurants, pubs and nightclubs. As a family business we see it as our duty to make you feel welcome, and if you need any help in arranging fixtures, golf or anything we are happy to help. We are rated as a two-star hotel by the English Tourist Board.
We have plenty of experience in organising group tours and have a growing reputation among touring sides who come to Devon to play cricket.
For more information, the hotel also has a website which you can find here. If you would like a quote, please don’t hesitate to email the hotel at firstname.lastname@example.org or give us a call on 01803 293682. We look forward to welcoming you to the hotel.
